Welcome to Mayo Connect and congratulation on losing 50 lbs so far. I am sure you have already notice an improvement with that weight loss.

You mentioned seeing a Dr at Mayo Rochester, do you live in the surrounding area. Both Mayo Rochester and Mayo Health System offer Bariatric surgery which starts with an evaluation to see if you’re a good candidate for surgery and talk about their program. If looking at other locations, make sure they have pre and post support. It is very important that the clinic you chose has a team to work with you.

I am 10 hours away . I do have a internal med Dr who will work with Mayo for continuum of care. But there is no nutritionist that I know of . I have started my evaluation already and insurance requirements. I am still wanting to know about more peoples experience with this procedure. I am weighing the risk / benefit of having this done
