I had the Shingrex 2nd dose administered Monday,
march 4/25 evening around 6pm and woke up Tuesday morning with horrible chest congestion, nasal issues and I was wheezing like crazy. Today is Friday and I was just able to get up out of my bed eating , shower and to the Walk in clinic tomorrow. This was the WORST reaction that I have ever had to anything in my whole 49 years of existence. I even asked the pharmacist and if course her answer was the typical "Just some red swelling and possibly painful injection site" but that should definitely be it. WELL CAN I JUST SAY THAT SHE WAS 100% INCORRECT and I do have the mind of stopping by the pharmacy and let them know how incredibly ill that vaccine made me. I have not been around anyone besides my 2 elder parents and fur babies while all this is going on we're under a severe weather alert still picking up the pieces from the last one a week ago. If you can avoid getting this vaccine please don't allow your pharmacist to talk you into it. I'm April M. from the Midwest recently turned 49

Hello @midwestgal75 and welcome to Connect. I am sorry to hear of your severe reaction to the Shingles vaccination. That must have been very uncomfortable. Everyone's response to a vaccine (or medication) is different.

As someone who has had Shingles, I can certainly describe a case of Shingles as being extremely painful, and the nerve pain lasted for several weeks. I had many sleepless nights. Understanding the risks of vaccines and weighing the risks against the benefits is an important consideration for each person to make individually.
