Trigeminal Neuralgia treated with Radiation caused eye numbness

I have experienced the same thing. I had Gamma Knife radiation for my trigeminal neuralgia 2 years ago and now the complete left side of my face is numb, and I lost taste on about 2/3 of the left side in my mouth. I have gone to 2 neurologists, had acupuncture and went to a pain doctor for an injection. Nothing has worked. I have switched between gabapentin and pregabalin to help me get through it, but they don't help the numbness. I would love to find a doctor who could help us!

I have the same thing too, and tonight I had pain ache go through my eye. I am glad to not have the tn pain and hoping it doesn’t come back but my face where it’s numb it will feel swollen and tighten up, sometimes get crawling feeling from nerves I ve read. I wish there was something too for us

Thank you for sharing. My case sounds very similar to yours. I no longer have the pain produced by TN do you? I’m now dealing with numbness and trying to convince myself that numbness is better than trigeminal nerve pain. Is your eye numb? I’m having a hard time adapting to that. Please keep me updated and I will do the same.
