After Cyberknife radiation for prostate ca: Where should I be at now?
I had a PSA of roughly 16, I'm 68 years old. I underwent Cyberknife radiation (5 treatments) that was finished on February 22nd roughly 5 weeks ago. Does anyone knows/have an idea, where should I be at with this after 5 weeks of high dose radiation?
My urine flow at times can be slow and slightly painful. Also, should I still from time to time be having an erection, and at what point does this dry ejaculation kick in. My guess is that if one is still ejaculating some liquid, as I am, that would mean the hormones are still active.
I very interested to know what I might be helpful in this 6-month waiting period prior to my next PSA (August) that I can do or take to aid this process. I don't drink or smoke and I have been and continue to hit the gym (as I've done for the past 9 years) 12 times a month. I also work the land on where I live and that is additional exercise itself.
Anyone out there that can answer thank you. Naturally this is on my mind often enough.

You don’t mention, whether or not you are on ADT. If you are, your PSA will probably be undetectable, If you aren’t, it will probably be .2 or less, But it’s not all that critical yet, It’s taken some people years to get their PSA to drop down completely after radiation. That is not necessarily undetectable, however, It’s a PSA you stay at for a very long time.
My brother had five SBRT treatments 2 years ago and had similar problems to yours with urination. He went on Flomax every other day and that worked for him, he only needed it for a short time.
I'm 82 going on 83. I had cyber knife radiation 12-13 years ago. My last yearly checkup I was told everything was good and I wouldn't have to come back for more check-ups. This advise was from a very young doctor that I didn't know and I wonder if he knows what he is talking about.
Any way I've learned that the long term effects from radiation never ends. My urination is getting slower all the time but not painful and I better be close to a urinal at all time evert couple hours---day and night. I have developed hernias that I have been told is, more than likely, resulted from the radiation. My bowel movements are very irregular, some times 3-4 times a day and other times every-other day. Just had an MRI this morn to find out why my left arm feels like it's going to fall off. It has turned black and blue from my shoulder to my elbow. I'm betting that is from the radiation too!!
I am 68 too. Gleason 3+4, PSA 10.05 end of January. My SBRT 5 treatments start on April 9 ending on April. The answers to your questions will be equally helpful to me. Thank you for asking.
