Is Pyridoxal -5 Phosphate (B6) safe to take?

B6 will disappear from the bloodstream fairly quickly, but depending on how severe your toxicity is and how long you took B6, it can take many months and even years for B6 to be eliminated from muscle cells and nerves. B6 toxicity can also cause permanent nerve damage and neuropathy, meaning symptoms will not get better no matter how long you are off B6. I would not consider taking any form of B6. I am six months into the B6 detox, and it is a long slog. I am super upset with the neurologists who suggested I take B6 without testing to see if I was deficient. Because of the damage from B6 toxicity, I will never take another vitamin or mineral without being tested first to check for deficiency and continuing tests to monitor levels.

Thank you for sharing your experience.

When I had B6 toxicity it took months for my nerves to settle down. One small exposure to B6 in a food that I was unaware of would cause a reaction. Firstly drink plenty of water as B6 is passed through urine.. Gelatine was the best thing for settling down the nerves
