Terrible Costochondritis flare up, not sure what comes next

LPRSOB, Bless you. I have only had this in my breastbone and it is so painful. My heart goes out to you and I am praying for you right now.
Have you done anything new that could cause a flare? COVID flared mine up as COVID increases inflammation
and costochondritis is inflammation. I can't take NSAIDS either.
Some thoughts:
1) Did you have COVID and this flared up worse after COVID?
2) Have you ever been given steroids for this such as a Prednisone taper?
3) Have you tried heat packs for this? Please ask your doctor before trying.
4) Have you been to a Rheumatologist?

1. I have never been diagnosed with COVID
2. I have never been given steroids.
3. I will give heat packs a try. They have helped me a bit with other kinds of pain in the past.
4. I have not been to a rheumatologist
Did steroids help you?
I am unfamiliar with Rheumatology and am surprised my PCP did not suggest someone. Did that help you as well?
