The purpose of Lupron Is to reduce your testosterone. The purpose of Zytiga Is to reduce your testosterone even more. If you’re just on Zytiga your testosterone will be very low and almost all of the side effects you get from Lupron will be there, because of Zytiga. I had terrible hot flashes with Lupron My oncologist had me take depo-provera which almost completely eliminated the hot flashes until I started on Zytiga.. Hot flashes came right back, even though I was still on depo-provera.

I know a few people that have taken Zytiga alone. I also know a few people who have gone on Enzalutamide or Darolutamide alone. I did that 6 months ago. I was on Lupron and Orgovyx For eight years, I dropped it because my Testosterone is not expected to come back after all this time.

You could pick an alternate option. The patch trial showed that taking Estrogen was just as effective as ADT, but had many fewer side effects. You might switch over to Estrodiol and stop the Zytiga. That would be equivalent to just Lupron alone which may be enough for you right now.

Look up the patch trial and present the information to your doctor to try to convince them to allow you to change your drugs.
