Does Mayo do Second Opinions through Telehealth?

Has anyone gotten a telehealth second opinion from Mayo? Do they do this? I'm in the Mid-Atlantic region.

I'm interested in this answer as well. I could use a consult to make sure I'm on the right path.

I’m not sure. I got a second opinion from the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix; however, that was during COVID. Good luck.

I reached out to Mayo last April after my initial Gleason 7 (4+3) diagnosis in Minneapolis. I inquired about a clinical study on TULSA Pro. They asked that I send all my info and I visited with a Radiologist via telehealth who had reviewed all my info with a team and determined I was an ideal candidate for Tulsa. I didn’t actually meet with a doctor until my Tulsa procedure in July.

I was interested and contacted Mayo for just this reason
They told me it would be a few thousand dollars just to get registered.

I would be a remote without procedures. Second opinion only and live 700 miles from the closest Mayo facility. We have a NIC center of excellence in my area but from my understanding that is slanted towards surgery not so much treatment. I contacted that center wanting to get in with the cancer center and they pushed me off to a standard urologist. High-grade high-risk cancer not interested in a vasectomy doctor.

I'm getting a 2nd (actually 3rd) opinion at Mayo Rochester next week. I'll be driving 12 hours one way. It will be worth it.

Cleveland Clinic does a 2nd opinion via Telehealth but it costs $1,800 to just register and they don’t take insurance.

I was told my doctor could submit my biopsy results to Mayo Clinic for a second opinion and it would all go through insurance but haven’t gotten that far yet.

I had a second opinion on my biopsy results performed at Johns Hopkins. I think it cost $200.00. Go to their website and search on second opinion. There was a small amount of paperwork I had to do and my urologist had to do in order to get the biopsy slides sent to JH..........but it's all fairly straightforward.

@jcf58 I live in Canada . TULSA-PRO was invented by Dr. Chopra , ( who now practices in the USA ) at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto .
Dr. Laurence Klotz who was on the research team still performs TULSA-PRO at Sunnybrook and recently ran a followup TULSA -PRO TRIAL .
