They have completed donor early phase one trials in China and UNC health at Chapel Hill will be applying to the FDA at the end of this year for a trial.
The trial entails using a Bronchoscope and retrieving a sample of stem cells from the airways and growing them in culture and re inserting them back via IV infusion.
Interest Ly in China they used the same technique via Bronchoscope to re ingraft the cells to the Lung.
Don't know how they would go about doing that.
The information I got was not by clinical trial results which apparently were not posted, but the reports stated that it could reverse fibrosis (Scarring) which is a major problem.
