CA 19-9 >2300: What questions to ask?
My mom was diagnosed in 2021 with Stage 3 pancreatic cancer. Had a whipple and went thru chemo and radiation and has been in remission since with a normal CA19-9. In December it was elevated to 315 - February it was 1,500 and now it is 2,308. The Oncology team cannot find where it is. What should we ask for?

I had a whipple in January 2024, followed by 3 months of chemo. I did scans every three months which have been clear. In October of 2024 my CA 19-9 was normal I went off the chemo. Four months later it was 4700. My oncologist just says there is something in there causing this problem. Put be back on chemo. After 2 rounds of Chemo the CA 19-9 is down to 2000. When I was first diagnosed with stage 1/2 pancreatic cancer my CA 19-9 was 9700.
Have you had any scans lately? MRI or PET?
Hi @billierae90, how is your mom doing? Have they done further testing, like @mnewland99 mentioned? Have they found the cause of the elevated CA19-9?
