Also I’ve been on Flowmax for almost 25 years, not long after it came out. I’ve had diagnosed BPH for 10+ years and have tried anything and everything and the pain/symptoms are worse than ever. It’s changed my life for the worse and I avoid leaving my house or doing anything social because of it. I have a high pain tolerance and have passed 30+ kidney stones and had 12+ removed via basket retrieval, laser and lithotripsy. My BPH pain is constant and has mentally wore me down.
@clandeboye1, @ericp502, and everyone on the forum, I appreciate the passion with which members dive into research to make important decisions, and that you share your research and decisions in the forum.
I am, however, posting a friendly reminder about the Community Guidelines https://connect.mayoclinic.org/blog/about-connect/tab/community-guidelines/
In particular, see guideline #2.
2. Remain respectful at all times.
- Exercise tolerance and respect toward other participants whose views may differ from your own. Disagreements are fine, but mutual respect is a must.
I believe that you agree on more than you disagree. On this forum, we only have text to communicate without the benefit of enhancing our messages with tone of voice or body language. Let's do so with respect.
So you are saying the studies, urologists and radiologists that say an MRI can tell the difference between a Gleason 6 and Gleason 7+ (7 - 10) are wrong?
This is from my MRI report. You are saying this is totally false information?
This test is designed to evaluate for clinically significant prostate cancer defined as Gleason 7 are higher including either Gleason 4 + 3, or Gleason 3 + 4 with a significant Gleason 4 component. Patients with Gleason 7 (3+4) cancer without significant Gleason 4 component, Gleason 6 or less prostate cancer are not expected to have significant abnormal imaging findings.
