Evenity and Rheumatoid Arthritis

Posted by aspirecreative @aspirecreative, Mar 28 9:30am

Hello, I have had 1 Evenity shot. My RA pain, which was well under control, is now off the charts. The only other time I remember this kind of pain was after trying 2 biologics, Embrel and Orencia. And, also after Covid shots. Am now on a JAK for the RA which has worked well. Wondering if anyone else with RA, who didn't do well on biologics is doing ok on Evenity. Thank you.

So sorry to hear this, Aspirecreative!
Have not heard of JAK. My 84 year-old hubby's now taking Azathioprine (no problems) for his longtime RA, and has both Pulmonary Fibrosis (on oxygen) and Severe Kyphosis -- for which he's had 2 kyphoplasties for 2 vertebral compression fractures, plus 2 healed compression fractures. Endo is having him switch from the Reclast infusion he had last year to monthly Evenity injection he's starting next month for osteoporosis.
His RA currently is the least of his problems, and we'd sure hate for him to have a flare-up with that.
What are you taking for the pain, and are you having a follow-up with your doc to discuss continuing the Evenity injections?
