@susies215 Thank you for your reply to my previous comment on the nodes that were found in my upper right lobe, which includes the 1cm spiculated node, and several more 4 and 5 mm nodes in the same upper right Node. The tentacles you mention that are coining off of your spiculated node sound like the picture rom the CT scan of my lungs on 3/16/25. My Oncologist called them blood vessels and that is the main reason he said he doesn't think it's a Node. Sounds like your Oncologist agrees with the pathology report and my doctor is at odds with the Pathologist that read mine. I met with my Cardiologist yesterday, and he seems to agree with the Pathologist. That said he ordered a new CT Scan with Contrast this time on 4/15, which is less than 2 weeks away. So, I don't have to wait 5 or 6 weeks for another CT Scan for confirmation of whether this is a Node or an Infection. He said he would call my Oncologist to explain this. I am more comfortable with this now. BTW, I finished my 1 week course of antibiotics, so any infection should be gone by the time they do my next CT Scan. Thank you for caring and God bless and heal you from your cancers and other health issues.
I'm on a twice a day regimen of antibiotics for 1 week. I too asked my Oncologist why do I have to wait 6 weeks before the next CT. His response was to give the " infection " time to clear up. I've had Ct Scans of my lungs every year since I had my 1st cancer in May of 2021. I had a second unrelated cancer in March of 2022. The CT scan from August of 2024 saw only 1 - 4mm node in my right upper lobe. The Scan on 3/19/25 showed 4 nodes total in the right upper lobe, with the largest being what the pathologist said was a 1 cm spiculated node. There were 2 - 4mm nodes and 1- 5mm node as well. My Oncologist showed me different angles including one that seemed to show 2 "legs" coming off the bottom of the larger node. He said he believed these were blood vessels and that I had an infection of some kind. He has been with me through the two previous cancers, and I do trust him. As I said earlier, I asked him point blank if waiting 6 weeks would change my outlook if he was wrong and he replied " It would not." I hope he's right, but I am preparing myself in case he's wrong.
