Thank you @gscott49 for your reply. God's word does say that anything we ask in His Name with sincerity, humility and a true love for Him will be answered. I was a lukewarm Christian for many years, but recently I have given all my cares and worries to God. I do sometimes worry, but I think that's only human. I've always believed in God and our Lord's sacrifice on the Cross, which was for all sinners. I do believe I am faithful and obedient, but sometimes doubts slip in. They are not long lived and I get rid of them as fast as I can pray. I was once a junkie, alcoholic, sex addict, pill popping adulterous sinner. God delivered me from that former life. I even became an Addictions Counselor at 52. I've been sober now since July 18th, 2009. I believe my sins are forgiven and I commune with God daily. God bless you.

all glory and honor to God the Father for helping you through your addiction I know it's a tough road to hold I've been down that road myself, occasionally want to Satan's minions will attack me because this life is a battleground and God has our back, the victory is already been gained through the crucifixion of Jesus Christ
