I tried first Letrozole, then Exemestane--with both, my tinnitus increased greatly, but no other side effects. Tried Anastrozole, tinnitus went back to its usual level. No other side effects so far. Started Kisqali one week ago--no side effects at all, except that it seems to improve my mood and energy--side effects that I'll gladly accept. Since I'm taking Kisqali, I have to take an AI.
Also, there are scientific studies on both Letrozole and Exemstane that show 1/2 the normal dose reduces estrogen just as much as a full dose. Why not ask your doctor about this?
Good nutrition is extremely important. However, I personally would not rely on it alone to prevent my cancer from returning. BTW, I'll be 81 next month. Not every older person has bad side effects from AIs!

Glad it is working! I'm almost 71 and have been on letrozole for over 2 years with no side effects--although I do need to get a bone denisityscan. When I went on the AI I just told myself I'd tell my doc I was going off if side effects were intolerable. I'm glad I started because so far so good!
