I’m in your same boat, I am 69, on the highest dose of Paxil, 2 30mg tabs a day, I will NEVER get off of this! I’ve never felt better in my life, my memory goes back at least 63 yrs and I had anxiety issues all the way back to then. To me it is great there is a medication that frees me from that horrible anxiety, panic attacks, PTSD etc! Find what works for you, what your body can tolerate and enjoy the relief. I know the journey to finding that relief is long and not easy but it is worth seeking out.

Amen. There is medication which works, some that doesn’t. Feeling good is the end game. Being medication free is difficult, and can be very risky. Find a good professional and work with that person. So pleased to hear from a kindred soul. Live fully! I’m 72, and my story is a reflection of yours. Stay strong.

The only reason I wanted to ween off Effexor was due to the side effects it was having on me... after weening off but then going back on an ssri pmus Seroquel, i feel great! (And without the side effects I had on Effexor!)
