Eligard for Prostate Cancer with Parkinsons (negative side effects)

Hello, I'm a Stage 4 Prostate Cancer patient in my 70s. My oncologist has me on an aggressive, targeted, iodine seed therapy treatment that he specializes in that uses eligard. While my PSA count is near 0 the eligard is causing negative side effects with my PD medications that is significantly affecting my quality of life. Extreme dizziness, often feeling out of sorts, very restrictive joint movements, etc. More bad days than good, whereas prior to the eligard treatment, the PD effects were very manageable. If anybody has any experience with this, or suggestions as to alternative medications, I would be be extremely grateful.

My comment- FYI only- my friend and I were in the navy , same ship. He has PCa as well as parkinses. He’s been on Lupron/ Eligard for almost 5 years. He s also on KEPPRA 3-4x/ day. His wife has to help him get dressed in the am. She told me the SE are terrible. Anyone out there with more advise?

Look up the Patch study. It finished recently and found that an estradiol patch or gel was just as effective as ADT and had a lot of fewer side effects. The study compares estrogen to ADT treatment overtime.

This may help with some of your problems.
