Hi, @roseann4z - you have been through a lot medically with cancer, a blood disorder and meds for your heart. I'm sorry to hear your migraines are now getting worse. I get it about being cautious about adding more medications, as they have various side effects that are wise to weigh.

I'd like you to meet other Mayo Clinic Connect members who have talked about atogepant (Qulipta) to share their thoughts about side effects and how it has gone for them. Please meet @mikaylar @hudson757 @kalita @gussie @benchi300.

What symptoms are you experiencing with your migraines, @roseann4z?

I sometimes have visual aura which consist of blind spots and flashes. Rarely some speech problems. Always days of fatigue, fog, stomach upset and depression/anxiety. Pain usually for a day in the middle. Nurtec helps somewhat with the pain but not really other symptoms. Side effects from Nurtec are similar, tired, stomach upset so why bother I feel.

Hi Rose, I took Qulipta for only 2 weeks. I dealt with severe constipation and got tired of trying to deal with that day-to-day. The Qulipta did nothing for me but everyone is different. I just had Botox last week and I am actually worse with the headache and severe dizziness. Depending on your age, everything matters as we get older and many doctors do not thoroughly take into consideration how age affects everything. You could also call the manufacturer of Qulipta and speak with one of their medical advisors. I called them because I have glaucoma and was worried about that. Do all the research you can and good luck!
