I know it is not covered by Medicare. I know two persons that had partial coverage from private insurance, in that the number of sessions was limited. I paid completely out of pocket, and it was about $3000 at the time back in 2005. For me, this was a lot of money, but my life was totally limited by pain and inability to sleep. I was willing to take the risk and that's a hard decision for folks like me who have limited income. Looking back, I'm so glad I took the risk. My back pain was caused by a herniated disc. I would guess that today's cost for the same number of treatments might be about what you estimate. (It depends on how many sessions you might need, also). @heisenberg34 Cost is around $3-5K. Refunds?!?! What are you even talking about? Do you ask your Dr for a refund? Your dentist? Your PT? Literally....what are you talking about? You sound very anti-Chiro, so I'm not sure what help you're offering on this topic. Do you even understand what a hernia is, how it's treated, and what the options are? If so, then you'd think perhaps understanding that going the surgical route is not in everyone's best interest and doesn't solve the problem. Neither does PT. BTW, there are many known issues with PT overbilling patients, they bill half of it, don't tell the patient, then send further bills after the fact. Check out TCO reviews. So, by all means, continue to be a troll and get whatever you get from that, which is frankly sad of you but I'm sure you have zero shame. For anyone else looking for treatment, yes, this is an option to get spinal decompression, yes you have to pay out of pocket for it because the insurance industry is a giant scam, and yes it does provide relief to many people. Does it fix everyone? No. Does it require surgery that doesn't permanently fix the problem? No. Either way, you're going to be paying money, so it's up to you to decide to use it towards something that can actually treat the root of the issue, or you can go cut portions of your disc off and continue on your way, which could have plenty of side effects and/or you end up needing surgery again down the road. As for this troll, quit being a dick. Seriously. No one cares about your grievances and you're a dick.
