I had a total hip replacement two years ago and at that time I had osteoporosis. Now, I have osteopenia thanks to aggressive drug treatment.
No problems with the surgery. I agree that hip replacement is a rough procedure. I watched a video of one before having mine. I don’t advise that.
I had 100% success with mine. Fast recovery, no problems. I was aggressive about physical therapy, though.
I am able to resume an active lifestyle since the hip replacement.

Thanks for the info and encouragement. May I ask what drug you are taking that put you back into osteopenia. I agree that staying up with PT and then staying active are key.

Can you expand on the aggressive treatment you received? What meds made the difference?
