My TN type 2 began about 4 years ago with pressure pain on my right ear. Two years ago it expanded to the right side of my face including ear, nose and eye as well as head. Persistent pressure and numbness at this time. Ordinarily, Lyrica works along with avoidance of groups. It is activated by wind, touching, etc MRIs of brain indicate all is normal.

Please join the online group on FB. Many people on there have what you post herpetic neuralgia. Talk about total pain. I do know many people have had success with surgery. It depends how bad you feel and how long you have had it. Easily googled. It's nice to banter with people who completely understand. Best of luck and feel better.

Did you have "ice pick " sensation in your ear? Did you ever have sudden weakness all over and unable to open your eyelids completely,
These are my symptoms, saw my ENT yesterday and ear is fine but he mentioned this particular diagnosis.
