To jjjjbk, with osteopenia and hip replacement October, 2024. Could you please update how you are doing? I have osteopenia and am about to get hip replacement, but I am nervous about fragility fractures due to the surgery or after the surgery. Have you learned any more about what to take or do to prevent fractures after the surgery? Thank you for responding

Yes. I am taking supplements per Keith McCormick consultation, & book Great Bones. There is also a proven strength training program called ONERO created by dr. in Australia.: https://onero.academy/
You should listen to this Dr. Belinda Beck interviewed by DR. ATTIA— fascinating.
https://peterattiamd.com/belindabeck/ She explains why fast unpredictable movement like Pickleball or dancing is ideal for stimulating bone growth along with strength training. I’m happy to say I’m back on the Pickleball courts and strength training. I wish you well!

I had a total hip replacement two years ago and at that time I had osteoporosis. Now, I have osteopenia thanks to aggressive drug treatment.
No problems with the surgery. I agree that hip replacement is a rough procedure. I watched a video of one before having mine. I don’t advise that.
I had 100% success with mine. Fast recovery, no problems. I was aggressive about physical therapy, though.
I am able to resume an active lifestyle since the hip replacement.
