Hope all goes well for you. I too am not taking any of the hard drugs because I react to everything. I started about 12 months ago doing supplements and my last dexa showed a 12% improvement. I believe my osteoporosis began when my thyroid was removed for cancer. Getting the thyroid replacement meds right is a BIG deal - I think. My endo and I parted ways because he did not want to hear me and basically said he couldn't help me any more if I'm not willing to take the harsh medicines. I'm on track for a new Endo in early April. Anxious to see what blood work shows. My thyroid meds have been increased twice since that time by my regular doctor and I added back to the supplements K2 because D3 doesn't work without it. Feeling much better and pain level is down. Planning on joining gym next week to start strengthening muscles and will continue walking 3 miles 3-4 times a week. Praying for you ladies to find your answers and help to this awful diagnosis
@pking1952 Thanks for sharing your experience and results. That is amazing news that your dexa increased by 12% after 12 months of supplements! Would you mind sharing your dexa results before and after the supplements? Like you my osteoporosis started after heavy medication-- high those long-term prednisone--and like you I postponed OP medication to see if I could get this condition under control through other means. I also take K2 and many other supplements and will have my first follow-up dexa soon since starting the supplements and BHRT. It sounds like you are quite active so that can only help as well. I wish you continuing success in managing this challenging condition we are all dealing with.
