Mombo, my rheumatologist has put me on Lamictal for pain, but says it also is a fine depression helper. But she also told me 60 mg of Cymbalta (duloxitine), twice a day was the best thing to do..the Lamictal is a helper. And it's an anti-anxiety med, and doesn't interfere with any other of my meds, and it's an anti-inflammatory. She also put me on Medical marijuana, but told me it's tricky to find the right combination and the right dosing/timing to avoid too much of a high, so I'll be working closely with a Pharmacist at a Med mj dispensary to work that out over time. Both Doc and Pharmacist sounded extremely poitive about it and aware that some folks are wary of the bad reputation it's gotten from too many stinky high-as-a-kite users of it as a recreational product, and unaware of a very very long history of medical research and use. Ask your Rheumatologist beore you give up on anti-depressants. She may just end up sending you elsewhere, but sending to someone who knows is good, right? 😁😁🤞

Took Cymbalta once. doctor had assured me that this would not have problems. He was wrong. Extremely depressed. Refused to take it again.
Took Lamictal for 2 years because doctor was trying to evaluate for bi-polar. Not sure why your doctor is using this medicine. Maybe talk to someone else?
