@reets70

I was on both drugs at the same time for 5 years, and never had a problem with either one. When I switched rheumatologists due to travel issues, I was taken off methotrexate and the hydroxychloroquine was reduced by half, still felt fine, no issues. I now have PMR and those drugs do not help, except for prednisone. Prednisone was a lifesaver for me for one year. I’m off prednisone now and beginning to feel the same horrible pain again! I have decided to try to get by without going back on prednisone due to its side effects. Wish me luck!

Thank you so very much for responding to my comment!!! I am now learning that nothing is 100% good or bad I just have to learn how to take one day at a time and hope that eventually I feel better. I am learning that for me there’s no magic medication combination length of time you take something it just varies and I just have to hope for the best. My very best wishes to you and thank you again for commenting on my question!!!

Did you investigate the tick connection. As I said below I was on hydrox for couple of years. PMR gone but now type 2 and RA allegedly. I say allegedly because I have zero issues except with couple of finger joints there is very little pain and I am very careless and busy with my hands. Eg chain sawing, firewood work, using climbing deer tree stands all fall n winter.
So who knows.
