I have a lot of metal/implants in me and I take antibiotics before dental appointments. I have for many years. If it was refused to me, I would be very upset.
I was a RN who took care of patients with infected joints and it’s not a pretty thing to go through.

That's not my point, I don't mind taking Amoxicillin, it's the fact that as a patient they keep you in the dark by not fully informing you what a TKR entails. In the short amount of time you spend with your doctor to make a decision that you may have to live (suffer) with for the rest of your life.
