Gaba is a wildcard - works for some not for others. We categorize it as “scary brain candy” . Read ALL the side effects. Be prepared for sudden uncontrolled narcolepsy, (esp while driving or eating ie “face in soup” ) extreme mood and personality changes, bizarre realistic halucinations, etc. and for us, no pain relief at all. Then trying to get off it and no idea how long to get the brain back to normal.
The current “opiod scare” is driving the medical community to try any new brain candy, as opposed to basic rx that has worked safely for decades when used as directed and monitored. The current “scare” is the result of a flawed 10 year old “data study” that included alcoholics, street drug users, and people using without prescriptions. One expects increase in morbidity under those circumstances. Unfortunately the many millions of legitamite patients are suffering instead. Look up “unintended consequences”. The people driving this stuff have no idea what crippling chronic pain is like, and no compassion for sufferers whatsoever.
We are looking into this new rx as well, but are awaiting the results from actual sufferers in this forum thread.
The medication can make you drowsy when first started that’s why Dr. starts lower dosage so you body can adjust better
