I am having dental filling today since TNR three months ago. Will take Ampicillin an hour before. Yes, twice a year for cleaning but
fillings also need antibiotic. But I read about
antibiotic resistance, so will ask my dentist if I need to
take it for further procedures.

My dentist said I will need to be pre-medicated any time I have dental work.

A few weeks ago, I needed to have an excision by the dermatologist because a biopsy came back as squamous cell carcinoma on my left calf. Because I had a right TKR almost a year ago (3/5/24), I wondered if I needed to take amoxicillin for that as well as any dental work. I called the knee surgeon's office and was told that it was not needed for the excision but would be for dental and for a colonoscopy. Glad I called.
