I have been seeing Dr. Vaughn in Birmingham since mid-June. I first had Covid in January 2021, before vaccines were available here, and began experiencing symptoms about 30 days later. I saw my GP, who had a few other patients with similar symptoms. Her experience showed improvement or the end of symptoms in 6 months. Shortly after seeing her, the vaccine became available in our area. It wasn't known then that the vaccine can cause Long Covid (according to info from Dr. Vaughn's practice). No matter what I did, including cutting back activites, avoiding stressful people and situations, sleeping 10 to 12 hours a night, increasing vitamins and other supplements, and resting as often as possible, I saw no improvement. For someone who had always been "up and going" from the time I woke up to the time I went to bed, this was depressing. I was even tested for Dementia and Alzheimers, as my family has a history here, but tests were negative. My GP referred me to Dr. Vaughn and told me it could take "a while" to get an appointment, as he is the only doctor with a dedicated Long Covid treatment program in the state. A few months later, I received a call from the MedHelp 280 Clinic and was able to schedule an appointment. After 10 weeks with Dr. Vaughn, my fatigue, insomnia, headaches, body and joint pain and depression have all improved. Anxiety and brain fog (including memory) remain opporunities for me. My treatment program lasts 6 months, and at the end they will evaluate and decide if I need further treatment. Dr. Vaughn does use Triple Therapy. Just knowing there is help available, and this clinic treats only Long Covid, has given me hope I didn't have for my first 4-1/2 years of Long Covid.
