The current trial at UCSF is a stage 4 open label study to gather data for a broader FDA approval. The safety and efficacy are known and it is an open label trial so you know that Plarify will be used. There should be no cost to you or insurance, but ask so you'll know, if your husband meets the trials criteria. They might also be able to get him in more quickly. Lastly, if it is of interest, it's great to participate in clinical trials to help move the science we all rely on forward.
