I was 74 when I had my open heart surgery. 5 days in IUC, came home to an empty house (I live alone) and did just fine. It was so much easier than my shoulder surgery 2 years prior. There is ache and soreness but not real pain. Of course, there are limitation like no lifting, but you will be fine promise. When I was in ICU there was a 90 year old woman waiting for surgery.
