Dealing with Fibromyalgia pain after breast cancer surgery
Hi
I had surgery December 15th for In situ breast cancer.
My fibromyalgia pain is off the chart in my neck , whole back, thighs. It's insane . I feel like I have whiplash again. Everyday seems to be getting worse. My fibro is usually under control with supplements which I had to go off for 2 wks prior to surgery. Anyone have experience with this?

Can you tell me more about the THC gummies? Are they expensive? Do you need to have a prescription? I took some for awhile for sleep and they helped but the price kept going up. Now I can’t afford them. Sincerely, Cher Cairns
One correction to my recitation (above). The cut-off for chemo now is 25. I have mis-typoed some wrong number like 230. My apologies. If you are a breast cancer survivor, you probably knew that, anyway.
HiSo I am 6 months post radiation from breast cancer.I have not been on Any fibro medication for a very long time.I took my cyclobenzaprine the 2 wks I had radiation. I have not been on it regularly for years. So now my New g p does not want me taking it. My fatigue is beyond anything I have ever had. I cannot take cymbalta. I have started effexor today. Wondering, if anyone else has taken this for fibro? Severe fatigue 😩 depression and anxiety
Hello @sue417, I moved your discussion about Fibromyalgia after radiation to a previous discussion of yours in Breast Cancer titled "Dealing with Fibromyalgia pain after breast cancer surgery" - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/fibromyalgia-pain-after-anesthesia/.

Hi
No it's for the menopause symptoms I am having since being taken off hrt.
Horrible anxiety mood swings. I can't take it. It gives me severe stomach pain abd no appetite. Ssri just don't work in my body.
I hope you can find some comfort and ways to manage your pain. I'm 54 and have an autoimmune condition and fibromyalgia. In May 2024 I was diagnosed with TNBC, had 6 of 8 rounds of chemo, partial mastectomy, then 12 of 20 rounds of radiation. I had so much burning nerve pain under my arm and wrapped around behind my lung that I couldn't breathe and my husband said I looked grey. I was advised by radiation oncology PA to go to the ER, which I did, to ensure I didn't have a pulmonary embolism. I did not but 1 month out and still have debilitating fatigue and burning behind my lung that comes and goes. After all this, they wanted me to do at least 3 more treatments without any pain management. Needless to say I was shocked and disappointed so I declined. I couldn't even get myself ready much less make it to their office 1.5 hrs away. It was and still is rough every day to get moving. It will be several months to a year before I am able to function normally, if ever. The nerve damage is done.
