rickylucy63,
I find it intelligent to be afraid of Prolia.
Forteo and Tymlos are the two medications that help heal fractures. I consider them the best osteoporosis medications. One nice thing about them is that you can stop taking them abruptly, if you have negative reactions. They leave your body quickly within 24 hours and there is no rebound from either.
I'm starting a third year on Forteo. If you want more information, I'm happy to respond.

Hi there,

I have 2 doses of Evenity left and in the case of my original fracture , it remained unchanged but a recent scan has detected more fracture in my T8 while T7 and T11 remain unchanged.
My Dr wants me to go on Prolia but I am have having second thoughts about going this route.
I am a 57 year old male and I have found this forum very helpful.
Thank you for your time.
Alvin

I am to start on Forteo soon. I too am afraid of side effects, but I tried Algaecal and my bone density worsened. I'm at -3.5T on lumbar spine and -2.5 for femoral neck. My other numbers are -2.2 to -2.5. I've exercised my whole life and eaten right. My endocrinologist believes it's from an eating disorder (anorexia) which began in high school and continued in college. After college, I got it together. However, I had maybe 6 menstrual cycles until the age of 22 due to my weight. With that being said, I think this is my only recourse. I had 2 terrible cycling accidents and broke ribs, clavicle, pelvis, tailbone, elbow, you name it. No more cycling. Just wondering how Forteo worked for you and does it skew blood work numbers.
