I have been approved for a pain pump and go in for my trial on May 7th. When going through everything with my surgeon on the implant he states he puts the pump itself in the back not abdomen, has anyone had this in back not stomach? I have looked all over online and cant find a thing on the pump itself being put in the back.

My pain pump was implanted in my abdomen. It has never helped with my pain, even after a very successful trial(dropped pain from 8 to a 2). Now it just sits there, flopping around like a big, old, stale bagel. I am getting it removed as soon as I get its output reduced to a safe level. I hope you have much success with yours. Many do.

I haven't had my pump put in yet. I am still waiting for my stimulator to be removed-- hopefully this month. My pain management doctor said they will be placing my pump in my back. He said it's a better placement for individuals who carry more weight on them.
