Question you wished you had asked before your Prostatectomy
I've made a list of questions to review with my Dr. regarding my upcoming Prostatectomy. I don't know what treatment they will want to do before the surgery and I don't know when they want to do the surgery. My main questions other than treatment before are incontinence, erections, orgasms (dry or wet), hospital stay, catheter time and other treatment option other than surgery. If you have had a Prostatectomy, would you lend me your wisdom of what you wished you asked? I'm def going to ask about Kegels and exercise to regain continence.

Cool. Thankyou for that.
Sounds like it's primarily for stress incontinence.
I have stress & urge incontinence, so I guess it's not suitable.
But judging by your success, it sounds like a worthwhile procedure.
It doesn't hurt to inquire about it! If it fixes 50% of the issue then that's a win, but it might just fix the whole thing. I don't know enough about it to know for sure but it's worth asking!
Ask your doctor what his (or her) definition of continence is. Mine believes that one pad per day is still continent. And it took me 18 months to get to that point.
I would have never thought to ask that. Thanks. That's a big help. 🙂
Hate to be that guy, but you can ask all you want about whatever you want and it’s still not going to make a bit of difference.
Perhaps if you were equivocating between surgery vs radiation there might be considerations.
As for surgery, plan for the worst, hope for the best and your answer is somewhere in between. Best of luck, which is the MOST important factor!
