Swelling and stiffness, 3 years after total knee replacement
I had knee replacement 3 years ago. It is worse than previous knee pain, and getting worse as more time goes by. My surgeon (in another state) says everything normal based on X-ray. Ortho doc here says the same, and said I’m having pain and he referred me to pain clinic for possible nerve block. I want to know WHY am I having pain, although I didn’t call it pain. ROM is 100. They can’t see everything on X-ray. I want an MRI. Want to go for second opinion. Should I tell new doc I’m there for second opinion, I don’t think that’s necessary......I think that would cause some bias, ie they would just say same thing.
Has this happened to anyone ? Thoughts ?
TIA

I am 67 also. I can be perfectly normal and suddenly the swelling happens and can barely walk. I keep a walker in the back of my car. The pain is incredible
Hi there! Can you tell me if you're given Versed or something like that so you're not 'awake' during the procedure?
What is PRP? I am bone on bone in one knee and have a torn meniscus in the other. Heart condition prevents surgery because it is considered elective. Sharon
I thought I was the only one having stiffness and swelling. Thank goodness other people are having this issue. It's not worse than before the surgery. It's just a different kind of pain. I was sure hoping I would be pain free, definitely not the case. Even after standing just a few minutes, my legs hurt and ache all the time. I wish there was a solution.
Yes after 3 1/2 years this is happening I am less mobile than just before the surgery...It is os painful
My doc has ordered xrays but not an MRI I am beyond frustrated and losing mobility..I was in the ER about three weeks ago and the amazing ER doc did an ultra sound as a side and was very concerned after she got my heart issue regulated.
I had an appt with my doc aa few days ago and had lab work the Reactive protein is a bit elevated which indicates inflammation for infection .....am waiting for results The doc put is as NON urgent as I non hodgkins lymphoma and am 81
Honestly I am so worried right now if it is infected even though I have e been dealing for three months with this issue I was on the hip surgery waitlist so this is affecting that as well...
