I was on Klonopin for a 30 yrs. Yes that's not a typo. I have had panic attacks since I was 16 yrs old but didn't start Klonopin until I was 30. I took 05 mg 3 times a day and was under my psychiatrist care. I was diagnosed with IC and after trying several treatments that didn't involve medication I was r
Referred to the pain mgt. Clinic. The doctor asked me if I had ever tried or heard of lyrica. No to both those questions so I tried it and gave been on for 2 yrs. The thing about lyrics is that it treats the pain but also treated my anxiety. So with my doctor I weened off of Klonopin. I don't know which is more addictive as they both are in my book. But if I can take 1 drug that helps with multipurpose results that us the one that I will take. Good luck with Klonopin. I hope that you too are being seen by a doctor. Thanks. I am doing great. Tapered off clonazepam easily. I tried lyrica but I did not feel well on that rx. I ended up seeing a neurologist and was diagnosed with a phrenic nerve injury and am using gabapentin and low dose naltrexone. Glad you are doing well!

You bet anxiety is real and can limit your life! It definately affects mine. You are brave to get off a med you were on for so long. Lyrica was a life changer for me. Sure I gained a few pounds, but after addressing the fact that I was munching on junk too much, I lost the weight again. I have been on Lyrica for 16 years, give or take a year. For me, severe pain every day was ruining my life. I have a severe case apparently. I am so glad you found a med that helps your quality of life.
