Paralytic Ileus - I've managed for over one year
One year ago I was discharged from hospital after a blocked intestine was unblocked but have been afflicted with paralytic ileus ever since. I have developed a regimen to manage the challenges it presents with no help from online advice or 3 gastroenterology appointments.

Interesting. I have never heard of this and looked it up after reading your post. This feels familiar to me. I have had several GI visits though and nothing remotely close has been brought up so I may be totally wrong. So, I am curious. What do you know about yours and how are you managing it?
First lets see if there's any evidence you have paralytic ileus because I'm not spending time in random conversation. If you have had anything resembling a normal bowl movement with turds longer than 2 inches and not accompanied with a watery discharge in the last 10 days - you do not have paralytic ileus (PI).
If anytime you can feel a comforting Peristalsis - a series of involuntary, wave-like contractions of the muscles in the digestive tract that propel food and other substances along the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. ) - you do not have PI). Best, EF
