"Between 1998 and 2015, 204 patients with HR localized prostate cancer…"
In other words, the participants in the study all had early-stage ("localized") prostate cancer, not advanced prostate cancer.
There's also the risk that findings based on data they started collecting almost 30 years ago (before even 1st-gen ARSIs like Zytiga were available) might no longer apply, especially now that we have significantly more-effective modern treatments like the -lutamides, but that's another discussion. 🙂

There are programs for lower income people that give you discounts on Orgovyx. Ask your doctors about this. Myovant even allowed people I know to get it for free.
Now that Medicare has a $2000 maximum that’s all you’re going to pay if you have to pay without insurance coverage.
That's correct about Medicare but with a caveat: Orgovyx has to be a covered drug under your Medicare drug plan. The $2k out of pocket max only applies to covered drugs.
Yes I agree it is better than(for me) the 3 month Lupron shots. I have been solely on Orgovyx for 5 years now. I’ve just adapted to my new “normal” with fatigue and all the accompanying side effects.
Last I heard, ADT holidays aren't indicated yet for advanced (stage 3/4) castrate-sensitive prostate cancer. In the studies I've seen, we were the only group who had worse outcomes from those holidays.
New research findings might change that recommendation, of course, but my concern is that if I took an ADT holiday, when my stage 4 cancer comes back it might have evolved castrate resistance.
Stage 3/4 cancer mean that cancer already metastasized? My care team never told me what stage my cancer is.
But Dr. Scholz of PCRI told me that I should take a holiday after just 9 months. By continuing I get about 2% benefit in my case. I am continuing!
My cancer is localized based on PSMA/PET scan and my PSA is 0.03.
I stayed on Lupron for seven years and Orgovyx for 9 months after. I have BRCA2 and it causes my PSA to rise if I even reduce drugs. I stopped taking it only because my testosterone will probably not come back after having been suppressed for eight years. If it does start to come back, I go right back on Orgovyx.
I have been symptom free from the cancer for 15 years, It’s worth taking it to stay alive.
I have an aggressive stage 3, gleason 8 (4+4). I had prostectomy, radiation, etc. I have used Orgovyx since the start of May 2022. PSA has been undetectable since starting Orgovyx. .On 3 month check ups with my doctor. I started this journey January 2014. Orgovyx is a blessing.

What makes you to stay on Orgovyx continuously for 5 years without taking a holiday?
Good question and will be following.

My cost is $13 per month with Tricare for Life (retired military)
