I'm just 6 months out and have the same IT band pain on my outer knee (left). I started strengthening a month ago and found sitting leg presses relieved the pain. It works every time for me. Maybe you can try it. Let me know how you make out. Best of luck!
I had mine done in 2004 and 2005. Worked the physio very very hard. Painful? You betcha. Physiotherapy said they had never seen anyone get full mobility back as rapidly as I did. TRUTH
Sadly they are so old they could fail any day and I am to old to live long enough to have replacements
Fingers cross that I croak before they no long lock when walking.
All the best. The newer ones I have read are good for 20 yrs where as the surgeon told me they last 10 to 15. Long ago so something must have been imporved.
All my best to everyone.
I am 9 months and can tell it will for sure take me the full year to recover. Aside from that I have patellar clunk that has been really bothering me from the beginning. Doc keeps telling me to wait for more healing before doing surgery to remove the offensive tissue. I think it's just cuz he's not experienced in dealing with it and is hoping I will learn to live with it. We shall see. What sort of problem are you having ptully1 that motivated you to come in here and ask.

I’m 30 months out on my right knee replacement. I recovered easily, ROM no problem, scar tissue started, and is now so bad, I told my doctor that I feel like I have an anaconda wrapped around my knee. Also have pain on outside of knee, right. Andrews Dr. told me there is nothing they can do, I’ll just have to live with it. Anyone have anything similar?
last 11 years i have had nothing but pain and problems. Dr says its phantom pain. Ha. So i used PRP for the other knee and have had good results. I know friends who have had good luck and bad luck. Prp is out of pocket but no operation . Some have no success. I like it because i can knell down when gardening etc. Good luck

That's crazy r46. I've never heard of anyone regressing after over 2 years of healing and a good and uneventful recovery. What was your ROM prior to the anaconda arriving. I'm guessing it's affecting your ROM. Something's got to be causing inflammation. Please keep us posted.
I promise you I'm not crazy!! I went for a check 12 days after surgery, they said I was one of the best, at that point ,than they had ever seen. I rode a bike for a year getting ready for surgery. I still ride the bike today, but I can't walk more than two blocks, at one time. I have no problem with daily life, going out to eat, grocery shopping, etc.
The right side of my knee flares ups soon as I hit the floor in the morning. That pain has been there ever since my surgery. The pain subsides about an hour after I get in bed, which is usually very early. I have a referral ongoing with a neurologist , to have nerve conduction test on my leg. It's been 4 months, but haven't heard from the Doctor's office yet, my Primary care Doctor ,has sent two referrals . As for there ROM I have full range of motion, but I feel I am wearing at least 5 support sleeves on my knee. I agree with you, I think something is causing inflammation. After surgery my inflammation marker was 2.5 before it was .05, last October it was .05. My surgeon was one of the best , head of Knee and Hip, at Andrews Institute. He said they could do nothing, his PA said you will get used to it, I"M AFRAID NOT! I can squat down , and when I stand up , my knee sounds like scar tissue popping. I thought about calling Mayo, in Jacksonville. I had robotic Prostate cancer surgery there, done by Dr. Todd Igel, that was 2009, and still doing great, Dr. Igel is awesome! I tried to think of everything that's going on with my knee, my surgeon said my bone was great, my knee is strong, and I can't hurt it, he said go play golf, I couldn't begin to play golf, I can walk very far at one time. I had an athletic injury when I was younger, I had knee surgery at 21, they removed meniscus, and cartilage, on the left side of my knee. 54 years later, TKR. June 2022. I would appreciate any more of your thoughts. Thanks

Yes, I’m 17 months post-op - I have Plica Syndrome (thick pad of scar tissue under patella), patellar tendinitis, soreness, tightness and some numbness. It’s like it just won’t heal and resolve. My ROM is good (125-130). Just feels bad - I haven’t played light tennis, for example, because I don’t want to push it and make it worse. Have seen lots of PT’s etc. Thought this would go better…
I am adding ,as I think of things. 5 months after surgery, I went to a bone specialist, because the top of my right foot would turn blue, after riding my bike. The doctor checked my alignment, and length of my legs, and had no answer, I have been riding regularly, and it is still happening, it goes away over nite, and it really doesn't bother me, compared to everything else. She is also with Andrews. I used to have some back issues ,but that has gotten better since surgery, sciatic nerve will act up occasionally, I wondered if that could be some of the problem. The craziest thing of all, is , as tight as my knee feels, I have range of motion, and riding a bike, is no problem. I just can't walk very far. I'll stop now.

Thanks, it sounds like we have very similar issues. About pushing it, I last saw my surgeon, April , last year, I told my neighbor that I was going to over do everything, before I saw him, I rode for miles, stretched , I can't walk much, but my knee felt ok, the day I saw him. Figures, right ! I'm like you though, I don't want to make it worse. After seeing this blog, I actually think something can be done, I felt like I was just pushed out the door, because they are so busy. I'm wondering if mine might be some sciatic nerve issue. Good Luck!

What is PRP?
Welcome @knoxter, PRP is Platelet-Rich Plasma - https://orthoinfo.aaos.org/en/treatment/platelet-rich-plasma-prp/.
Are you considering a knee replacement?
