In response to michaelbryan6998:
Dailyeffort noted, there are a lot of messages posted on this site regarding receiving Pluvicto. I want to address your 4 concerns you listed as 1, 2 3 and 4.
1 &2) We're talking radiation here, not a virus, dust, etc. Any surface will be impacted with the radiation. The radiation is in your system and diminishes with the half-life of the Lu177 (Pluvicto guidelines are 3 day for extended time near people, a week to be mostly out of your system). The radiation leaves the body mostly in excreted liquids, i.e. sweat, saliva, and especially urine. Sitting on a blanket is good, but choose furniture isolated from others for 3 days or more. Store and wash exposed clothing (and the blanket after the 3 day period) after each use, separately, with an extra rinse.
3) Eating easily digested foods will help. I never became more than slightly nauseated with a headache, and my go-to was watered down chicken noodle soup and bland mash potatoes. Odd, but it worked for me during chemo and Pluvicto.
4) You must have read my comment about riding in a car with a freshly treated Pluvicto patient. Tied into my comment 1-2 above, the moisture leaving the body through exhaling is carrying some radiation. Thus, the more fresh air (and air not passing by other people), the better. I drive a separate car from anyone else for at least 3 days.
I tell myself to step back, look at the big picture, take a breath and use every day common sense. Do read Norvartis Pharmaceutical's literature on their Pluvicto. I hope this helps and does not muddy the water for you. I'm not a doctor, but I am the repeat (two rounds x 6 treatments) Pluvicto patient so, I've had a lot of experience. Stay positive...
thanks and blessings. Yes, I"m a reader and maybe my unrealistic expectation would be that 'they' would provide a 'do this, don't do that' information sheet with more details than are provided. Again, my expectation. Would it be beneficial to wear gloves? radiation is gone from towels/bedding/chair covers after washing ......
Anyway, thanks for taking the time and energy to respond. I have a good support system, strong wife and family, good church, etc.
Blesssings,
Michael
