Elevated psa level last sept led to mri - had a yearly chest/abdominal CT scan at same time that led to possible liver/kidney issues. The mri proved it was actually the right kidney. Had both mri's a few days apart the week before thanksgiving 2024. Prostate MRI results were Pi-RAD 5 and biopsy was ordered for Jan 8th -mri results in mid dec 2024 for the kidney was a 5.6cm cyst in the right kidney and enlarged spleen. Immediate surgery for full right nephrectomy scheduled for Jan 6 and reschedule prostate biopsy for March 10. Surgeon said it appeared to be just in the kidney and everything looks positive. Biopsy came back clear cell renal cell carcinoma.
I will know more when we go over results of prostate biopsy and path forward on march 20th.
right now things are a fog as to what just happened to me and what about my wife of 40 years ...and .... I don't know, I guess try not to think about all this, just pray these dr's know what they are doing.
Praying for you and your husband to have positive results and treatment. From what i understand this is not very common.

We were told the same "not very common"! Hang in there, thankfully today medical science has come a long way and there are several treatment pathways.
For my husband, the chest/abdominal CT scan was ordered to find out if the prostate cancer was contained or not. He found out about the kidney RCC via notification from the hospital's app! i love and hate technology, it was late at night when we read the results and the Doc appointment was a week away. We had 7 days to research about what RCC was and try to decipher what the results meant, stages etc. it was a nightmare! Thankfully, all went well, he is feeling fine. We are praying for good results.
Praying for you and your wife, hope you get better soon
