Anyone dealing with Carcinoid NETs with Diabetes?
I was diagnosed with Carcinoid Tumors Earlier this year, 2 weeks ago I was diagnosed with Diabetes. I’ve been pre-diabetic for a few years now and was told the hormones related to the Tumors can cause an increase in blood sugar. Is anyone dealing with diabetes and Carcinoid syndrome is oral medication working for you? Thanks…

In addition to the meds you take for the loose stools, how have you adjusted your eating to help with this problem?
Do you understand what foods might contribute to loose stools?
No I don’t have any thing to go by or anything to help with my meal prep
I recommend you ask your doctor for a referral to a registered dietician at the hospital. I have had three surgeries on the upper digestive tract and I have found hospital dieticians to be very helpful in developing eating plan that helps with digestive problems associated with surgeries.
I look forward to hearing from you again. Will you continue to post with your questions?
I was also told I was pre diabetic/diabetic my primary care dr prescribed medication,. I was on the meds for a few months and then I saw a diabetes specialist, she recommended I stop the meds and stop/minimize sugar and carbs. Ive been able to control it by diet, and weight control, although my A1C is higher than the recommended limits, She didn’t think it warranted the use of medication, I’ve managed to control it for 2 years now. Everyone’s situation is different..
