I don't think a therapist can prescribe for you but from what you have said it appears that no one understands the complicated situation with any and all benzodiazepines. Dr. Josef has been mentioned and he certainly understands the situation and as dedicated his life to helping people like us. In my case, I have no way to afford his help or else I would seek him out immediately. He has many lengthy YouTube presentations addressing all the issues in talks and interviews with fellow sufferers from Benzo harm. The content can be very frightening so I can't in good conscience suggest you watch his documentary videos on the subject because it can be very scary and set us into a worse nervous condition which it has for me, on the other hand, it's all very informative and I have ideas on what to expect. One of the most important things is to find a provider who will continue to prescribe for us whether that be for the rest of our lives or over the course of a long, slow taper which done with the best safety we can expect is very precise and slow holding at points for extended periods for the nervous system to adjust. It's very hard to find proper treat for this for us in this country so sadly😥

What do you think about this provider (Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner) wanting to prescribe klonopin to me and his insistence that I did indeed go through detox in this 7 day ‘miracle cure” as opposed to a proper long taper. He also said if I preferred, I could just go back on the Ativan .5 in the am, .5 in the afternoon and 1mg at night. I tried explaining that it would put me right back where I was before I even went to the Detox center — addicted to Ativan. He didn’t seem to understand the point I was trying to get across. Also, in a short time of taking the Ativan, they stopped working so, again, I would have to up my dosage. I don’t know the right thing to do. I have been trying to find a phone number for Dr. Josef as he has a new facility in Tucson, Arizona, but I can’t locate the info on the internet.
