Overdoing it is one of the risks we have when we are finally free of pain...My shoulder surgeon refers to the period between 4 and 5 months post surgery as "the danger zone" - the period when we believe we are completely healed but in fact we are not. It sounds from your description of moving, lifting and hauling as though that is exactly what happened to you.
When you say you feel the implant, does it feel like something is moving that was fixed before? Or something shifted? If so, an x-ray by the surgeon can confirm that everything is still in place.
Or can you feel the implant when you palpate the area? That is actually normal - as swelling resolves and all the muscles settle back into place we get curious and poke around.
I actually found that after each hip surgery (I have had 2 replacements and 3 revisions in the past 20 years) it was about a year before I "forgot" my implants. Just 3 months ago I had a fall with a deep bruise on my hip, but no fracture thankfully; I'm still aware of a lump (a healing hematoma) and the implant like I was years ago.
Have you talked to the surgeon or had an x-ray?
