Topical Magnesium Lotion for Feet

Posted by Debbie @dbeshears1, Jun 10, 2022

Yesterday I had an Integrative Medicine doctor encourage me to try rubbing a topical Magnesium ointment on feet, saying she’s heard it’s an anecdotal remedy for neuropathy feet, especially if they feel like you’re walking on gel pads or bubble wrap and may feel wobbly for balance (not pain). I’m never opposed to trying anything at reasonable costs if it seems to have merit, but while I’m googling where to find it, I thought I’d throw it out to this group and see if anyone has tried it and what results they think they got from it? Thank you 🙂

I use magnesium with hemp. I get it from Amazon and it helps.

Have you also tried other topicals like lidocaine or diclofenac Na? How would you rate your relief? My feet and ankles ache so much(along with burning) that it becomes almost impossible to walk. I would so like something that helps.

After reading about magnesium I just ordered several products from Amazon. I would be hesitant to take any magnesium supplements as I have IBSD. So altering my diet in any way can mean havoc. I ordered the sprays and the flakes (for my partner David who has restless feet and legs. He can still get in and out of bathtub so I thought he might get some relief when added to your bath. The only question that I have is several posts talked about damage to organs etc. So I am confused about the safety issues. Are there any???

I have a compounded cream I can send you. It has an extended lidocaine so it last longer than regular lidocaine plus it has other ingredients in it.

I would try it. Natural treatments can benefit so much alongside a doctor. You never know how your body will respond! With your Doctor, I would really push for your vitamin levels to get checked, to see if you have any vitamin deficiencies. I’ve been begging for help with that, so it looks like I’ll have to switch to Internal Med, and not see my family practice doc anymore to see and figure out more information about my pain. Hopefully you have a good hearted Doctor, and insurance that will listen to your concerns! You can also go through a Chiropractor who does alternative medicine therapies, I’ve even heard Acupuncture could possibly help, and be approved through insurance if a medical provider deems it’s needed, so find a real Doctor whose a chiropractor that does alternative therapies so they can try getting that covered for you. I just found 2 in my whole area, so I’m calling at 8am to check on my insurance! My pain has been so bad this week, stairs are not my friend. Sending healing thoughts, and I really hope you can find relief!

Good to see magnesium lotion works for some. I have tried it but it makes my legs itch . . . has anyone else had that effect?
