@woojr exactly. I was in pain for months too. My primary doctor told me I had Bursitis... finally went to a Sports Medicine doctor and when steroid shots didn't help at all, he ordered an MRI for me. That MRI showed I had bone on bone Osteoarthritis of my left hip. Scheduled an appt with hip surgeon and had the Total Hip Replacement surgery. Extremely Successful! Pain free right away, (besides the surgery incision pain) and it gave me my active lifestyle back!! Do NOT be afraid of surgery!
