I could use some encouragement
I had surgery on 1.23.25 at United Hospital in St Paul for a resection of a tumor that was removed in 2000. Imagine my shock after 25 years!
When I met with a doc at Givens at Abbott, ai was told that there was a second tumor that no one ever told me about. Now I am headed to Mayo in Rochester for a 2nd opinion.

You are headed to the right place. I had a pituitary adenoma and went to Mayo Rochester for second opinion. Surgery on the 6 February. Still healing reminding myself of God’s new mercies everyday.
Excellent team of care givers: Maria Peris Celda, neurosurgeon and Jacob Eide, ENT.
I can’t even begin to imagine your feelings. Grateful you have made the decision to have the second opinion
Good call. You need a real tertiary center with neurooncologist back up. Oncologist neurosurgeons are a rare specialist. Mayos has both.
We are stronger than we realize, and can get through any adversity. Mayo is a good call. The bad thing about most brain tumors is having to grin (or not) and bear it. It can be like you’re stuck on a ride you don’t want to take. Having recurrence or a 2nd tumor is something I hope I never have to go through. You are resilient since you got through the first one. You got this. That 2nd tumor is just your bitch!
@tbusker, how are you doing? When is your appointment at Mayo Clinic? Do you have any questions about logistics or otherwise?
Thank you for asking. After a discussion with my current surgeon, we are doing a 3 month post op mri and thenre assessing the situation.
The doc at Abbott was super scary and really kept pushing a medication that has only been on the market since August 2024. I don't feel comfortable with that. So for right now we are in a holding pattern and praying that God provides a miracle.
I will add you to my prayers as well.
