aquablation and retro ejaculation

This is an important topic to discuss that isn’t, likely due to embarrassment (as if it’s taboo) unfortunately. I’m about 4 weeks out from surgery on 4/4/25. This morning was my first go at post-surgery masturbation. Intense orgasm but dry, save for a drop or two of fluid. I’m disappointed because I like the sensation of full release. Let’s face it, there’s ethos surrounding a strong ejaculatory release for many men. I’m hoping this will improve over time. Despite assurances from my urologist (a very good one), my instinct warned me I’d likely fall into the 10-15% of men who experience retrograde (unlikely to be a self-fulfilling prophecy). I suspect the % is higher due to under-reporting and more data will emerge as the procedure is performed over time. For those who have experienced retrograde, has it improved over time? (I’m 59, good health, post surgery urinary function vacillates between improved - strong stream - to urgency. I was told the urgency will wane over time. A few times in the last week I also couldn’t make it to a toilet before leaking a bit). Thanks for raising this topic - if you search the web for it, the only information is on here. All other information is promo from the manufacturer and doc advertisements taking about superiority of ejaculate function over Turp and others). I had a PAE 2 years ago that was labeled a “failed PAE” but ejaculatory function was preserved.

I'm much older, 75 now.
And I'm about 10 months post aquablation.
I feel much the same way you do.
Although gradually improving, I'm still suffering urgency more than I had hoped, and I also sometimes spring small leaks on the way to the bathroom.
I still use depends, but mostly at night. Still trying out different under shorts to find the best fit and absorbency.
Urgency comes and goes, as does frequency, which are improvements but not normal yet either.
I wake up 2 and sometimes 3 times a night, but I have made it now and then waking only once.
It surprises me when it wakes me only once,
The urine stream still sprays more than I like, however that's an improvement as well.
I feel like I'm permanently stuck with retrograde ejaculation.
In a few month I plan on a follow up procedure if there isn't more improvement.
