I´m 74 years old and by 2017 I made a PAE. Prostate size 122g. Pós-operative was: excruciating pain in urethra when urinating, blood in pee and faeces, fever in perineum and rectum. Unfortunately my prostate grow again and I need to make another PAE because I have only one working kidney and had two cardiac surgeries. I´m trying to find the following information: 1 - What´s the success rate of a second PAE. 2 - Has this procedure changes in 8 years to bring less pain pós-operative? Which medicines some of you used to counteract tha hellish pain I felt. I was suggested Rezum but studies show only 17% decrease in big prostate sizes. Any help will be very welcome

I did not know PAE could have those kind of complications nor that might have to be redone. Have you considered a HoLEP? I had that done a few years ago and it has been a great solution for me.

Thank you very much for your explanation of this procedure. It will helpme a lot

Did you experience very burning sensation when you urine? Or you have to use Foley for some time? Thank you
